I am at heart a person-centred counsellor
I believe the relationship between the client and the counsellor is key to the therapeutic process being successful.
I offer an empathetic, non-judgemental space for you to identify and explore the issues which are affecting you and help you to move forward and navigate the difficulties that life can sometimes bring.
Being primarily person centred and humanistic I also integrate other modes of working into my practice depending on what works for a particular client. I enjoy bringing creativity into the counselling space and find that working in this way can often free the mind and bring focus and clarity. I also work with mindfulness and grounding techniques when appropriate.
As well as running my own private practice I also work as an in-house school counsellor in two primary schools. This is a role I find really rewarding and I am passionate about being able to help children voice their emotions and process their lives through talking, play, creativity and games.
Before training to become a counsellor I worked in the marketing department of a large, global education organisation and latterly directly in schools. I have the personal experience to understand and help with work based stress and office dynamics, as well as with family dynamics and childhood issues.
